To keep safe while operating and using gas appliances in your home, please follow this advise.

If you smell gas in your home

If you smell gas in your home and suspect you have a gas leak in the house, please leave your home immediately and call the Nation Gas Emergency Number 0800 111 999

If you can do it safely, turn off your gas supply which will commonly be found next to your gas meter. Move the handle until it is at 90 degress from the pipe to shut off the gas supply.

What are the symptoms of a gas leak

You can easily begin to feel ill as a result of a gas leak. This can include lightheaded, dizziness, nausea and headache symptoms.

If you smell gas DO NOT…

Light a naked match or turn on the gas hob or other similar naked flame sources.

Turn any electrical devices on

Use any other decice that could cause a spark
