The history of Ariston Thermo Boilers

The Italian brand Ariston can trace its history back to 1930 where Aristide Merloni founded ‘Industrie Merloni’.

But is wasn’t until the 1960s that the Ariston brand began to appear and which would help the company become a leader in the Italian boiler heating market. Over the next few decades, Ariston expanded and grew in both the market and the range of products that it offered.  In the 1990s, they acquired Racold, the largest Water Heater manufacturer in India and opened its first plant in China.

In the early 21st century, Ariston continued its expansion by acquiring other brands that you may not be as familiar with including Chaffoteaux, Elco, Cuenod and Rendamax.

In 2009, the company rebranded and officially became known as ‘Ariston Thermo‘ and the expansion and acquisition of other brands in the market continued including the acquisition of ATAG Heating, the Dutch high end boiler brand.

As of five years ago, Ariston Thermo had sold over 7 million heating products in over 150 countries with a turnover of more than 1.43 Billion Euros.
