Fitting a new outdoor tap for a garden in Houston near Renfrewshire
We may be best known for fitting new gas boilers but did you know we also happen to be very good at plumbing?
It makes sense of course. A lot of what we do in a day to day heating job involves plumbing. For example, if you are wanting to fit a new radiator in your home but in a different location to where the existing radiator was, then it would need new plumbing pipework to be fitted. And we of course would do that.
So adding piping, taps and other plumbing fixtures and fittings is actually a frequently provided service by the Wright Gas team.
And yesterday was no exception. With Spring now upon us (even though the temperature refuses to climb very high) many home owners are looking to get stuck in with their gardening in preparation for the summer, and for one couple in Houston near Glasgow, this meant that they wanted a new outdoor tap fitted.
They actually already had an outdoor tap fitted in their garden but it was an old, stiff and difficult to operate tap which had seen many a cold Scottish winter. They wanted a new garden tap fitted that would be easy to operate AND ideally be fitted a bit higher up on the wall than the existing one. The old tap had been fitted very low to the ground and was actually quite a nuisance to reach down towards.
What work did we do?
We fitted a new outdoor chrome plated lever tap in a new higher position that is both durable enough to tolerate many a tough Scottish winter ahead and easy to operate.
It involved adding new pipework to relocate the tap position, removing the existing tap and cementing up the hole that the original tap had made.
As you can see, it may look simple but it is now going to be an invaluable part of the couples gardening for years to come and a lot more usable than the old tap.
