Do you need your boiler in the summer?
Your mind is mostly likely focused on your summer holidays so the health of your boiler is probably pretty low down in your priority list (we get it).
But in the summer, a lack of activity in your boiler can actually do it more harm than good. So many people turn their boilers off during the summer and especially if they are going away for a couple of weeks. But even when your boiler is not working, it is always thinking. When a boiler has been sitting idle for a period of time, it will still run through various procedures to ensure that everything is working a-okay.
If you turn your boiler off completely, it can’t run those programmes. And while you might think that this won;t amount to much, you won;t find out until you really need your boiler in the winter. And that can lead to serious problems.
So rather than shut your boiler off, just leave it ticking over. You will thank us in the long run.
